“Amazing food. Fresh awesome flavours. What makes it really special is the prompt friendly service. Will definitely look forward to coming back and dining again.”
“First time visiting this restaurant with the family yesterday as a table of 3. We had the garlic chilli king prawns starter, tamasha surf n turf, chilli chicken main, kids chicken tikka & a side of house fries. Upon arrival we were greeted promptly by a very nice young man who sat us down & offered us drinks, he was very informative & polite. The restaurant as a a whole is a small establishment with an open kitchen & upstairs seating, I found the atmosphere a little cold & not very cosy. The mocktails were great, especially the Pina colada. Our food all came out within about 20 minutes which was very quick even though everything was evidently freshly cooked so this was good. My steak was cooked perfectly medium however I found the quality and tenderness to lack as it was still slightly chewy and not melt in the mouth how a well marbled ribeye usually is, the accompaniments on the plate were very nice. The garlic chilli prawns starter was very generous for the price paid, they were freshly battered and fried and paired well with the rest of the plate. We all enjoyed our food & as a very experienced chef myself I could tell everything was fresh and nothing was shop bought or frozen. Overall a great spot in Nottingham with the benefit of halal meat. Points which could improve which would make this a 5* for me is the gents toilet seat is broken and hanging off, the atmosphere could be more cosy, other than that it’s a nice restaurant. We will be back ”
“Went for my 21st birthday and I would 100% go again!!! Food was amazing, most of us had the tapas and one of us had the lamb shank. Perfection is the only way to describe it. Service by Zion was impeccable, nothing was too much for him, an absolute pleasure. Was very reasonably priced also for what we had.”
“Dining with style. We came for breakfast as a small group for a nice breakfast. Parking is available at the back in the car parks as on road parking is only after peak hours. The staff were helpful and attentive. The food choices were varied and interesting, although I feel the breakfast/brunch menu is superior to the evening menu especially in cost and value. We had the English breakfast, mushrooms on toast and steak and eggs. All the meals were jive thought the steak was a little tough and overcooked. Drinks were nice and staff helpful with minor changes, although I don't understand why there is no masala tea. It would fit the menu perfectly. Overall a good breakfast meal but I'm not sure I'd do dinner given the value.”
“Dinner at Tamasha Grill in Mapperley did not hold back on the flavour — bold, smoky, spice-led dishes in a stylish, welcoming setting that feels built for long evenings and sharing plates that hit hard. The staff were super friendly and recommended several dishes from the extensive menu as it was hard to choose from everything they had on offer. Dynamite King Prawns – juicy, crispy, and coated in a chilli mayo sauce that lives up to the name. Big flavour and a serious kick. - These were definitely a favourite Chargrilled Lamb Chops – beautifully marinated, full of smoky spice, cooked to perfection. Worked perfectly with the dip also. Chicken Tikka Skewer – tender, charred edges, that perfect balance of yoghurt marinade and tandoori heat. Then onto mains: Highway Chicken Curry – rich, comforting, and deeply spiced with a proper roadside dhaba-style depth. The sauce was packed with flavour and had just the perfect level of heat. Pan-Fried Salmon Tikka – flakey and buttery with a smoky char, served over a creamy base that didn’t overpower the fish. Subtle, clever, and a great contrast to the curry. Everything was beautifully presented and delicious. I would love to get to try more of their menu or come back for breakfast or lunch! If this is already your local or you find yourself in Mapperley Tamasha Grill is definitely worth a visit.”
